The possibilities are here. What is still missing are methodology and integration. Based on our ongoing research, we have systematically adapted our working structures to the capabilities of generative AI. Although the industry-wide transformation still lies ahead of us, we are already applying tomorrow’s standards today:

Dynamic Planning

Generative processes turn requirements into proposed solutions. Alternatives are analysed before confirmed targets are transferred into a structured approval and implementation process.

We begin our next project with a clearly defined concept rather than watching the project team search for one.

Active Project Knowledge

Requirements and decisions are captured digitally, linked and validated. Planning documents are extracts from a centrally managed source rather than isolated partial results.

We manage our next project by querying AI-driven project knowledge based on the current planning status, rather than continually searching through emails, minutes and folder structures.

Variable Integration

Target values are supported by forecasts at an early stage and replaced by confirmed planning results as the project progresses. The further the autonomy of the new technology develops, the less human process control is required.

We develop the process intelligence for generative planning outcomes and close the gap between what is technically possible and what you and your project are ready for.

Can AI do architecture?

In 2023, we began searching for new digital planning tools designed to make our work easier. What we found was a new realm of possibilities that will fundamentally shape how we work and plan in the future.

For students

AI will not do your work for you. AI will assist you. And to use this new technology productively, it is essential to develop critical thinking skills.

• AI does not generate architectural concepts on its own; it supports planning processes. It can help create planning documents and assist in handling complex information.
• Planning remains communication: decisions emerge between clients, users and places. AI cannot replace these relationships; it can only complement them.
• This is not simply about “operating” new digital tools. It is about learning to think with purpose and practising how to formulate precise tasks.

For architects

There is more to say about applying artificial intelligence in everyday planning, and about the countless new digital tools we have been continuously tracking and testing since late 2023, than can be covered on a website. A link to our research is provided below.
